About Time Dilation
Time dilation is a difference in the elapsed time measured by two observers, either due to a velocity difference relative to each other, or by being differently situated relative to a gravitational field.
According to Einstein’s theory of special relativity, time passes at different rates for observers in different inertial frames of reference.
The Formula
t’ = t / √(1 – v²/c²)
- t’ = Time in moving frame
- t = Time in stationary frame
- v = Relative velocity
- c = Speed of light
